Patent Attorney
James E. Larson, Esq., has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 1998 and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 1993. His practice focuses on complex commercial transactions, intellectual property strategy, and portfolio development, including patent and trademark prosecution, technology licensing, and IP commercialization. He also advises on cross-border structuring, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and risk mitigation and dispute resolution in the telecommunications and technology sectors.
He began his legal career in the early 1990s as a U.S. patent agent at Larson & Larson, P.A., working alongside his father, firm founder Herb Larson, and his brother, Bill Larson. After earning his J.D, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law, he practiced at the firm before going on to hold leadership roles in international law and business, including Director of Patent Development at a Central American IP firm and General Counsel positions in the software and gaming sectors in both Costa Rica and the US.
He currently serves as Associate General Counsel for the Americas at Vantiva, a global technology company, and is Of Counsel to Larson & Larson, P.A., advising on patent matters and IP portfolio strategy.
James is married to Catalina Larson, a professional sign language interpreter. Their daughter, Fabiola, is a recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
